Culture, fun and where is the sun?

A day at Quincy Mine

Quincy Mine in Hancock, Michigan

The students spent the day clearing the trail at Quincy Mine with their partners,
the Youth Conservation Corps, and learned how the mine ran.

Bring on the Strawberries

                            We enjoyed the wagon tour around Chassell park even though it was bumpy.

Our own backyard...A hike in Calumet

"Everyone was looking at the deer bones." -Jacinda


"We found a spine and we found gross fur." -Summer and Jacinda 

"The wolf ate it!  She (Kara, the outdoor educator) said that it was probably fresh."  -Evan


"We were going to the beach." -Jacinda


"We all had a very fun time going on this long trail." -Jacinda


"We were looking for agates.  I bashed them between a big rock.  It broke the agate to see the inside if there were lines."  -Summer

"Some of us were on the beach skipping rocks." -Jacinda


"This leaf is suffering from a very bad case of leaf fungus." -Leaf doctor Evan
We learned that it could either be fungus or insect eggs on the leaves.

"I like this hike because there were a lot of mint berries and things you can eat on this trail." -Evan
